Car Rental – Damage Management Policy

What Happens If a Rental Car Is Damaged?

At GoTravexo.com, most customers enjoy a safe and hassle-free car rental experience, and incidents involving vehicle damage are rare. However, in the event that a rental vehicle is damaged during your rental period, it’s important to understand how the situation is managed.
To ensure complete transparency, GoTravexo provides a clear Damage Management Policy outlining how damages are assessed and how any applicable charges may be applied. We recommend reviewing this policy along with our Terms & Conditions to fully understand your responsibilities.

Your Financial Responsibility

Your financial liability for any damage depends on the protection plan or insurance coverage selected at the time of booking. In some cases, costs may be partially limited or fully covered.
As coverage options vary by rental provider and agreement, we strongly advise reviewing all rental terms carefully before confirming your booking.

Types of Vehicle Damage

  • Light Damage : Minor cosmetic issues such as small dents, scratches, paint chips, or surface marks. This may also include loss, theft, or damage to accessories, documents, or keys.
  • Tyre Replacement : Applies when a tyre is damaged beyond repair and requires full replacement.
  • Serious Damage : Any damage beyond minor wear and tear, including structural damage or issues that affect the vehicle’s safety or performance.
  • Total Loss : When the vehicle is damaged beyond repair or when repair is not economically feasible.

Vehicle Inspection at Return

When you return the rental vehicle, it will be inspected by the rental provider, usually in your presence.

If Light Damage Is Found
  • An invoice will be issued detailing applicable charges
  • By signing the return report, you acknowledge the recorded damage
  • A Light Damage Administration Fee may apply as per the provider’s policy
If Serious Damage or Total Loss Is Found

You may receive the following documentation:

  • A vehicle return report describing the damage
  • Photographic evidence of the vehicle’s condition
  • A detailed invoice including applicable charges, which may cover:
  • Administration fees for major damage or tyre/windscreen issues
  • Inspection or engineer assessment fees (excluding tyre/windscreen cases)
  • Repair costs or total loss charges as determined by the rental provider

Important Notice

All damage evaluations, repair decisions, and associated charges are determined solely by the rental provider in accordance with their policies and rental agreement.
GoTravexo.com acts as a booking platform and does not control or influence damage assessments or related costs. Customers are encouraged to review rental terms and insurance options thoroughly before booking.
